FFGQ

Quality Groups help organize a quality initiative within a given region by holding physicians accountable for the appropriateness of their practices and prescriptions. Specifically, these are groups consisting of about ten primary care physicians from the same region, who meet 10 times a year to discuss and analyze their practices based on a topic selected at the regional level (6) or by the group itself (4). Each group is facilitated by a peer who has been trained for this role. These discussions are based on up-to-date scientific data and clinical cases presented by the participants. Changes in practice are measured using indicators made available to participants. Quality Groups have existed for nearly twenty years and have spread to five metropolitan regions: Brittany, Centre-Val de Loire, Hauts-de-France, Normandy, and Pays de la Loire. They are organized under a federation: the French Federation of Quality Groups (FFGQ).

The Syndicat des Médecins Libéraux (SML) is a representative organization dedicated to defending and promoting private medical practice in France, chaired by Dr. Sophie Bauer since December 2022. It supports physicians of all specialties and areas of expertise, regardless of their sector of practice, as the healthcare system evolves, and advocates for their interests with public and contractual institutions. The SML works to defend the freedom to establish a practice and prescribe medication, preserve professional independence, improve working conditions, and ensure high-quality, community-based medical care for patients. Historically, the union has also advocated for access to Sector 2 for all physicians. As a proactive force, the union actively participates in national negotiations regarding the organization of care, compensation, and the future of the medical profession.

Torgeir Hoff Skavøy

Torgeir Hoff Skavøy has worked as a general practitioner at Bønes Legesenter in Bergen, Norway, since 2006 and is a specialist in family medicine. He is Chair of the Norwegian Association of General Practitioners (NFA). His work focuses on health policy, social inequalities in health, and the digital transformation of primary care, addressing both its opportunities and limitations. He is particularly committed to developing a sustainable healthcare system and strengthening primary care as the cornerstone of effective, equitable, and person-centred health services.

REAGJIR

ReAGJIR is the Independent Association of Young General Practitioners and Locum Doctors in France. Founded in January 2008, this professional union brings together and represents locum general practitioners, general practitioners who have been established in practice for less than five years (whether self-employed or employed), and young academic professionals in general practice (clinical fellows, university teaching supervisors, and general practice educators).

As a federation of regional unions, ReAGJIR supports and advocates for these three groups of professionals in their daily practice. SFTG

Founded in 1977, the SFTG (French Society of General Practice) is both a scientific society for general practice and a continuing education organization for healthcare professionals.

It promotes a vision of education that is open to interdisciplinarity, the humanities and social sciences, and committed to improving the quality and safety of care, as well as reducing health inequalities.

Its work is rooted in everyday medical practice.

The SFTG offers healthcare professionals training programs designed by general practitioners in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, tailored to current needs and challenges in medical practice.

Its Research Department aims to organize, promote, develop, and conduct research activities in general practice and primary care, particularly in the fields of healthcare quality and health system organization.

SFMG

Founded in 1973 by a small group of pioneers, the French Society of General Practice (SFMG) continues to promote and advance the field of general practice medicine.

SFMG is an independent, non-union, and non-partisan association that is a member of the College of General Practice. Its work and reflections are conducted collectively through collaborations with medical professionals and experts in the human and social sciences.

The association is committed to advancing research in general practice, developing practical clinical support tools, and promoting continuing medical education. These efforts have also led to the publication of a collection of reference works dedicated specifically to general practice medicine.

MEDECINS SOLIDAIRES

Médecins Solidaires is a very simple idea conceived by Dr. Martial Jardel, a general practitioner and co-founder of the association. Since it seems impossible to ask a lot from a few doctors, what if we asked… a little from many! In practice, since 2022, the association has been asking general practitioners to donate one week of their time to take turns working in health centers located in underserved areas. Thanks to this rotation system run by a group of over 1,000 volunteer doctors, 14 villages have already regained sustainable access to healthcare!

The model is turnkey: each week, in each of the 14 health centers, a doctor takes over from the previous one. Their sole mission? To care for patients. In addition to a net salary of 1,000 euros, housing, transportation, and all administrative paperwork are covered by the association. Residents of these areas, who in some cases haven’t seen a doctor in several years, are thus able to receive ongoing medical care provided by the Médecins Solidaires health centers, which become their primary care providers.

Médecins de Montagne

The Médecins de Montagne brings together general practitioners working in mountain regions who share specialized expertise in traumatology, emergency medicine, and healthcare in remote environments.

Médecins de Montagne works to promote, support, and defend the specific characteristics of mountain medical practice in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders, including the Regional Health Agencies (ARS), the Directorate General for Healthcare Provision (DGOS), the French National Health Insurance (Assurance Maladie), and elected representatives of mountain regions.

Mountain medicine faces unique challenges related to geographical isolation, seasonal fluctuations in activity, land and housing shortages, and practice constraints, particularly regarding access to technical facilities and paramedical resources.

As a training organization, Médecins de Montagne supports physicians, residents, and early-career practitioners each year through dedicated training programs, conferences, and events. By encouraging the sharing of experiences, the transmission of expertise, and the continuous improvement of professional practices, the association helps ensure the provision of high-quality healthcare in mountain areas and prepares healthcare professionals to meet the current and future challenges of mountain medicine.

FSMR

Rare Disease Healthcare Networks (FSMRs) are national structures that coordinate a wide range of stakeholders involved in rare diseases and their management. They are accredited by the French Ministry of Health and have been coordinating the implementation of the National Rare Disease Plans since 2014.

There are 23 FSMRs in France, each bringing together a structured network of expertise focused on a specific group of rare diseases (based on an affected organ system or a similar care pathway): Rare Disease Reference Centers (CRMRs), Rare Disease Competence Centers (CCMRs), Resource Centers, Diagnostic and Research Laboratories, and Patient Associations.
They also work in close partnership with scientific societies, educational, social and medico-social organizations, universities, and any other partners—including private-sector organizations and European partners such as the European Reference Networks (ERNs)—that contribute added value to collective action.
Together, these stakeholders co-develop solutions to address the challenges posed by rare diseases**, including patient care, diagnosis, access to treatments, research, education and training, information dissemination, and awareness.

FMC Action

Founded in 2003 and led by physicians, fmc-ActioN is one of the leading providers of continuing medical education in France.

Approved by FAF-PM and accredited by ANDPC for all healthcare professions, as well as for interprofessional training programs, fmc-ActioN organizes more than 400 training sessions each year throughout France. The association also holds the Qualiopi certification in the category of Training Activities.

Its seminars are specifically designed by healthcare professionals for healthcare professionals. They cover a wide range of topics, including medical subjects across all specialties, professional development themes (such as stress management and patient safety), and digital health topics (including smartphone use, cybersecurity, and healthcare software).

The association also offers a certified training program in gerontology, enabling physicians to complete the theoretical training required to practice as coordinating physicians in nursing homes (EHPADs). In addition, fmc-ActioN organizes a dedicated training curriculum in ultrasonography.

fmc-ActioN also develops customized training programs tailored to the specific needs of Territorial Professional Health Communities (CPTS) and Multidisciplinary Health Centers (MSP).

Independent from trade unions and the healthcare industry, fmc-ActioN promotes an educational approach that is free from external influence and focused on the real-world needs of healthcare professionals.

Fédération Française des Diabétiques

The French Federation of Diabetics is a patient association, serving patients and led by patients. Through its network of around 100 local associations and branches across the country, together with its national headquarters, its mission is to represent the 4 million people living with diabetes in France.

Founded in 1938, recognized as a public-interest organization in 1976, and accredited since 2007 by the French Ministry of Health to represent healthcare users, the Federation is entirely independent of any public institution, private organization or company, and any professional body.

FCPTS

Founded in 2017 at the initiative of healthcare professionals involved in Territorial Primary Care Communities (CPTS), the FCPTS supports the territorial and community-based organization of the healthcare system.

To achieve this, the Federation actively supports the creation and development of CPTSs by fostering networking, knowledge sharing, and the emergence of collective dynamics within local territories. It also represents CPTSs before institutions, partners, funding bodies, and public decision-makers.

Prof. Dr. med. Thomas Frese

Prof. Dr. med. Thomas Frese is Director of the Institute of General Practice at the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg and a practicing GP in rural Saxony. He has held his professorship since 2016 and serves as Managing Director of a regional primary care center. His research focuses on diabetes care, consultation reasons, assistive technologies, and interprofessional communication in primary care. He is now President of WONCA Europe.

Dr. Cyril Bègue, MD, PhD

Dr. Cyril Bègue is a General Practitioner in a rural multi-professional health center and a Senior Lecturer in General Medicine at the University of Angers. He currently serves as Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the French General Medicine Congress (2023–2025), Deputy Secretary General of the Collège de la Médecine Générale (2023-2025) and now President of the Collège de la Médecine Générale.

Dr. Paul Frappé

Dr. Paul Frappé is a general practionner at a multi-professional health center in Saint-Etienne, working with other GPs, nurses, midwive, speech therapists and neuropsychologist. He is involved in territorial organization of healthcare through the « CPTS of Grand Saint-Etienne ». Professor at Saint-Etienne University, he has been president of the French College of General Practice from 2019 to 2025.

Professor Nicolas Senn

After completing his medical studies in Lausanne in 1998, Professor Nicolas Senn completed his postgraduate training in general internal medicine and began working at the Lausanne University Medical Polyclinic (PMU) in 2002. From 2005 to 2009, he was stationed in Papua New Guinea on behalf of the University of Melbourne (Australia) to coordinate a research project on malaria prevention in young children.

Since 2009, he has been working again at the PMU, both as a senior resident in general internal medicine and in family medicine research. In this capacity, he is notably responsible for the national SPAM (Swiss Primary Health Care Active Monitoring) program, which aims to better understand the functioning of family medicine in Switzerland.

He was appointed Associate Professor at the Faculty of Biology and Medicine (FBM) of the University of Lausanne, while also being named director of the PMU’s University Institute of Family Medicine in 2016. In January 2019, upon the creation of Unisanté, he was appointed chief medical officer and took over as head of the Department of Family Medicine. In this role, he is responsible for teaching family medicine at the FBM while maintaining a clinical practice. He also continues his research activities, particularly in health services and the links between health and the environment in clinical practice. In 2020, he co-founded the Francophone Primary Care Group.

In 2004, he received the WONCA-World “Five star Doctor Award of Excellence in health Care”. In 2019, he was elected as an International member of the National Academy of Medicine (Washington, USA).

Dr Peter Holden

Peter Holden is a UK specialist family physician recently retired after 38 years as senior partner in a rural teaching and training practice bordering the Peak District National Park. He is also a Consultant in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine serving 20 years as a HEMS Physician on two air ambulance helicopter services helping the formalisation of the subspecialty of Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) in the UK . Peter is Chief Officer and Treasurer of the British Medical Association and Vice President of UEMO- The European Union of General Practitioners and leads on the issues of Physician Substitution for both organisations.

Géraldine Bretault graduated from the École du Louvre with a specialization in Contemporary Art and Museology. Dr. Iveta Nagyova, PhD, FABMR

Dr. Iveta Nagyova, PhD, FABMR, is Head of the Department of Social and Behavioural Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Pavol Jozef Safarik University (UPJS) in Kosice, Slovakia. She is also the Immediate Past President of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA), President of the EUPHA/EPH Conference Foundation, Honorary President of the Non-pharmacological Intervention Society (NPIS), Vice-Chair of the WHO/Europe Innovation Platform for Behavioural and Social Innovations, and the designated WHO/Europe National Focal Point for Behavioural and Cultural Insights. Previously, she served as a member of the WHO Technical Advisory Group on Behavioural Insights and Sciences for Health, the WHO/Europe Regional Director’s Advisory Council on Innovation for NCDs, and the European Advisory Committee on Health Research (EACHR).
She graduated in Clinical Psychology at UPJS, obtained her PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of Groningen, and completed postgraduate training at the University of Oxford through the Oxford International Primary Care Research Leadership Programme. Her work focuses on advancing biobehavioural and psychosocial innovations for the prevention and management of chronic conditions, with particular emphasis on non-pharmacological interventions, behaviour change, patient-centred integrated care, functional status, and quality of life. She is actively involved in the development and coordination of research projects, academic publishing, and the supervision of PhD students.
In addition, she is deeply committed to translating scientific evidence into practice and policy. Her work integrates evidence synthesis, co-design methodologies, innovative implementation strategies, and the scaling up of effective interventions to improve population health outcomes and healthcare systems. She has actively contributed to several high-level international policy and strategic documents, including the Ashgabat Declaration on the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases in the Context of Health 2020, as well as the European and global WHO resolutions on Behavioural Sciences for Better Health.

Pr. Trisha Greenhalgh, University of Oxford

Trisha Greenhalgh is Professor of Primary Care Health Sciences and Fellow of Green Templeton College at the University of Oxford. She studied Medical, Social and Political Sciences at Cambridge and Clinical Medicine at Oxford before training first as a diabetologist and later as an academic general practitioner. She has a doctorate in diabetes care and an MBA in Higher Education Management. Her research sits at the interface between the social sciences and medicine.

Her work seeks to celebrate and retain the traditional and the humanistic aspects of medicine and healthcare while also embracing the exceptional opportunities of contemporary science and technology to improve health outcomes and relieve suffering. Three key interests are the health needs and illness narratives of minority and disadvantaged groups; the introduction of technology-based innovations in healthcare; and the complex links (philosophical and empirical) between research, policy and practice. She is currently developing novel synthesis methods for complex evidence, based on hermeneutic principles and supported by AI.

Trish is the author of over 500 peer-reviewed publications and 16 textbooks. She was awarded the OBE for Services to Medicine by Her Majesty the Queen in 2001 and made a Fellow of the UK Academy of Medical Sciences in 2014. She has also been elected to Fellowship of the UK Royal College of Physicians, Royal College of General Practitioners, Faculty of Clinical Informatics, Faculty of Public Health and Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management. In 2014 she was awarded International Fellowship of the United States National Academy of Medicine for “major contributions to the study of innovation and knowledge translation and work to raise the profile of qualitative social sciences”.

Gregory Ninot is a full professor at the University of Montpellier since 2008, specialised in the evaluation o non-pharmacological interventions (NPI) in the healthcare field. Between 1999 and 2010, he conducted clinical trials evaluating the effectiveness of physical and psychosocial interventions in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, in collaboration with Montpellier University Hospital. From 2011 onwards, he continued his work in the field of supportive care in oncology at the Montpellier Cancer Institute. In 2011, he founded a collaborative academic platform on the evaluation of non-pharmacological interventions in Montpellier, which became an international scientific society in 2021: the Non-Pharmacological Intervention Society (NPIS). In 2016, he co-founded an international research network on clinical trials evaluating behavioural health interventions, the International Behavioural Trials Network. He has been an associate professor at the University of Quebec in Montreal since 2019. In 2021, he co-founded and serves as deputy director of the Desbrest Institute of Epidemiology and Public Health in Montpellier. He became a member of the Institut Universitaire de France in 2024 for his participatory work on NPI. He is the author of 14 books and over 190 scientific publications, focusing in particular on the evaluation and implementation of NPI in various areas of health. He has supervised several PhD theses by general practitioners and encourages their involvement in research.

Harini Sathanapally

Dr Harini Sathanapally is a practising General Practitioner and Wellcome-funded doctoral fellow at the University of Leicester. Her research interests are in addressing health inequalities and improving the care of people living with multiple long-term conditions. Her doctoral research focuses on ethnicity-based health inequalities in people presenting with breathlessness in primary care and the impact of underlying multiple long-term conditions, using a mixed-methods approach.

Valérie Masson-Delmotte

Valérie Masson-Delmotte is CEA senior climate scientist at Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l’Environnement (CEA-CNRS-UVSQ, Université Paris Saclay, France), which is part of the research federation Institut Pierre-Simon Laplace (IPSL) where she is in charge of the Climate Society Center. Her research has been focused on past, present and future climate and water cycle change, combining paleoclimate studies, observations and modelling, and has led to more than 200 peer-reviewed publications, acknowledged by several awards (Descartes Prize 2008, Irène Joliot Curie, 2013; Martha T Muse 2015, Nature’s 10, CNRS silver medal, EGU Milankovicz medal, SCAR president medal, 2020, IUGG gold medal, 2023, BBVA frontiers of knowledge, 2024). She is a member of French Academy of Technology and Academy of Science and Doctor Honoris Causa of universities of Utrecht, KU Leuwen, Bern and the Tibetan Plateau Research Institute. She is a member of the Joint Science Committee of the World Climate Research Programme, member of the French national ethics committee, and vice-chair of the Ethique en Commun committee. She is member of the French climate change committee (Haut Conseil climat) since 2018. From 2015 to 2023, she was Co-Chair of IPCC (Intergovernemental Panel on Climate Change) for the Working Group on the physical science basis of climate change.

Dr. Jean-François Thebaut

A cardiologist from 1980 to 2013, he served as president of the National Union of Cardiologists from 2005 to 2011 and as president of the National Professional Council of Cardiology from 2008 to 2011. He has held numerous elected positions within professional, regulatory, and union bodies. Committed since 1990 to training, quality assurance, and patient safety, he was appointed president of the HCDPC from 2016 to 2020, and has served as a member of the National Council for Periodic Certification since September 2022 as a qualified expert.

As a member of the Board of the French National Authority for Health (HAS) from 2011 to 2017, he successively chaired the Commission on Improving Clinical Practices and Patient Safety, the Commission on Care Pathways, and, on an interim basis, the CNEDIMTS, and from 2016 to 2017, the CEESP. He contributed to the consultation process for the 2016 Health Act, focusing on community-based care and the establishment of CPTSs, and subsequently served on the steering committee of the Grand Health Conference in 2016. He is a scientific advisor to HCAAM, an expert at CESREES (part of the HDH), and a member of the HDH’s CoStrat; he specializes in the evaluation of new technologies and data analysis, particularly in the areas of care pathways and prevention.

He is the founding president of Xpéritis, a health consulting firm specializing in the evaluation of health technologies, digital solutions, e-health, and new organizational models, which was established in May 2017. A diabetic for over twenty years, he was elected vice president in charge of advocacy in September 2019 and re-elected in 2025 to the French Federation of Diabetics.

Dr. Stéphanie Sidorkiewicz

Dr. Sidorkiewicz is a French general practitioner, researcher, and professor based in Paris at Université Paris Cité. She combines patient care with teaching and research at the Faculty of Medicine and the Centre for Research in Epidemiology and Statistics (CRESS, UMR 1153), METHODS team. Her work focuses on chronic disease management, shared-decision making, and prevention. Dr. Laure GEISLER is a general practitioner and the mother of three children. Each newsletter offers actionable scientific resources, including supporting materials and prevention guides that can be downloaded or screenshotted (practical tips, hygiene routines, independence checklists, decoding guides, self-monitoring tools, and parent-teen agreements).

Based on scientific evidence, these resources are designed to support local public health initiatives and coordinated care. The goal is to translate public health recommendations into concrete, practical prevention strategies, thereby promoting greater patient autonomy.

Dr. Pierre de Bremond d’Ars

Dr. Pierre de Bremond d’Ars is a university-trained general practitioner working at a municipal health center in Malakoff, in the southern suburbs of Paris.
Active throughout his studies in student associations and unions (Anemf, Isnar-IMG, REAGJIR) and later in professional organizations (USPCS, Collège de la Médecine Générale), he is just as comfortable at a protest, sign in hand, as he is in a meeting at a ministerial office.

He is one of the founding members and currently chairs the No Fakemed Collective, an organization dedicated to combating misinformation in the health sector. The decision to remove homeopathy from public health insurance coverage is partly their fault.

Pr.em. Jan De Maeseneer, University of Ghent

Prof.em. Jan De Maeseneer, MD, PhD, (Hon)FRCGP, is a family physician and worked in the interprofessional team of the Community Health Centre in Ledeberg – Ghent (Belgium) from 1978-2017.

He was Head of Department of Family Medicine and Primary Health Care at Ghent University from 1991-2017.
He chaired European Forum for Primary Care from 2005-2017 ( www.euprimarycare.org ).

From 1997-2018, he coordinated the Primafamed Network , that supports the family medicine training In 25 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.

He chaired the Expert Panel on Effective Ways of Investing in Health, advising the European Commission (2013-2022). Actually he is the Head of the WHO Collaborating Centre on Family Medicine and Primary Health Care – Ghent University since 2010.

In 2004, he received the WONCA-World “Five star Doctor Award of Excellence in health Care”. In 2019, he was elected as an International member of the National Academy of Medicine (Washington, USA).

Dr Karolina Griffiths, University of Montpellier

Dr Karolina Griffiths is an academic general practitioner practising in an underserved urban area in Montpellier, South of France. She is a lecturer and GP trainer at the Department of General Medicine (DUMG), University of Montpellier.

Her work is rooted in using data to improve clinical practice, from her doctoral research on deferred antibiotic prescribing and health literacy to her work empowering patients facing health inequities to access better healthcare and address the social determinants of health.

She is actively involved in national and international primary care research networks and is committed to bridging the gap between research evidence and the realities of frontline primary care.

Dr. Alexandre Gouveia, University of Lausanne

Dr. Alexandre Gouveia is a primary care physician trained in Family Medicine (Portugal) and General Internal Medicine (Switzerland). After completing his undergraduate and initial postgraduate training in Portugal, he worked for five years in a Family Health Unit in Viana do Castelo, Northern Portugal. During this period, he was a guest lecturer in Community Health at the School of Health Sciences of the University of Minho (Braga), a member of the Executive Board of the Portuguese Association of General Practice and Family Medicine (APMGF), and the Portuguese delegate to EQuiP (WONCA).

In 2014, he moved to Switzerland to pursue a career in academic primary care. After obtaining his specialist title in General Internal Medicine in 2019, he completed a doctoral degree at the University of Lausanne, with a focus on potentially avoidable hospitalizations and ambulatory care–sensitive conditions.

Currently, Alexandre Gouveia is Deputy Physician at Unisanté (Center for Primary Care and Public Health, University of Lausanne) and Head of the Policlinique de médecine générale, a primary care unit with approximately 60 residents and chief residents undergoing training in General Internal Medicine. His current research focuses on the impact of artificial intelligence on physicians’ tolerance for diagnostic uncertainty in postgraduate training. In addition to his clinical, teaching, and research work, he is Vice-Director of the Postgraduate Medical Training School of the Faculty of Biology and Medicine at the University of Lausanne and has been enrolled in the Master of Medical Sciences in Medical Education program at Harvard Medical School.

He is also the Swiss delegate to the WONCA Europe Council, representing the Swiss Society of General Internal Medicine (SSGIM), and an expert for the WHO Emergency Ready Primary Health Care initiative. He has authored more than 50 articles and is the first author of the 4th edition of COMPAS, a French-language textbook of clinical guidelines for ambulatory primary care, published in 2026.

Prof. Dr. Péter Torzsa

Professor Dr. Péter Torzsa is Head of the Department of Family Medicine at Semmelweis University. Trained at this university, he completed clinical internships in Scotland, the Netherlands, and Belgium. Board-certified in family and occupational medicine, as well as in hypertension and diabetology, he obtained his PhD in 2009 on the epidemiology of sleep apnoea in general practice.

His research focuses in particular on screening for sleep apnoea and depression, the links between affective temperament and metabolic diseases, vaccine effectiveness, the health of general practitioners, burnout prevention, and medical professionalism. He has supervised numerous students and doctoral candidates and has received several scientific distinctions, including the 2025 WONCA Five-Star Doctor Award.

Active in several scientific societies, he is the national representative of the European General Practice Research Network and president of CSAKOSZ. He also holds leadership roles in the Hungarian Psychiatric Society, the Hungarian Society of Hypertension, the Hungarian Society of Sleep Diagnostics and Therapy, and the Hungarian Diabetes Association.

Author of more than 180 scientific articles and hundreds of presentations, he has accumulated over 1,100 citations (h-index 21). Married and the father of four children, he spends his free time gardening, photography, cultural activities, and hiking with his family.

Dr. Peter Kowatsch

Dr. Peter Kowatsch is the President of the Austrian Society for General and Family Medicine (ÖGAM). He works as a general practitioner at the Primary Care Centre in St. Gilgen am Wolfgangsee. Dr. Kowatsch is a lecturer at the Paracelsus Medical University in Salzburg. He co-developed the training and mentoring concept for medical trainees in local practice settings. Dr. Zrinka Huđek Leskovar

Dr. Zrinka Huđek Leskovar is a specialist in family medicine with a strong professional focus on the development and advancement of primary health care. Since October 2024, she has served as President of KoHOM (Coordination of Croatian Family Medicine), the national professional organization representing family physicians in Croatia. In 1994, she earned her diploma in ultrasonography. In 2003, she co-founded MG MAROC, a non-profit organization for general practitioners in Morocco. She was elected president of MG MAROC in 2010 through which many training sessions for Moroccan doctors were organized. She earned a diploma in pedagogy in 2011.

She is member of WONCA EMR Council since 2015, member of the Research Commission of the College of Health Sciences International University of Rabat-UIR-Morocco and Member of the Board of Directors of the Moroccan Society of Medical Sciences (SMSM)

She co-founded the general practice society for the Maghreb (Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia) in 2014 , the Arab Society of General Medicine in 2022 and the Pan-African Federation of Family Medicine in 2023.

Throughout her career, she participated in multiple international conferences and events as a speaker and organizer. She also wrote many research articles about general practice.

Dr. Jean-Baptiste Kern

Dr Jean-Baptiste Kern is a general practitioner currently serving as a resident in general internal medicine at the Hôpital intercantonal de la Broye in Vaud, Switzerland. He manages inpatient care, emergencies, intermediate care and pre-hospital settings with a mobile emergency unit in a semi-rural area. Dr Kern is a member of EURIPA, JhAS and SSMIG. As a former independent rural general practitioner and senior registrar in France, he has expertise in family medicine, rural primary care, medical education and health policy.

Prof. Zaim Jatić, MD, PhD, is a family physician and researcher focusing on public health, chronic disease management, and patient-centered care, with experience in primary care teaching, research, and international collaborations.

Dr. Andrée Rochfort

Dr Andrée Rochfort is a GP with over 30 years of clinical experience. In the Irish College of GPs, she is Director of Quality Improvement, centered on supporting GP workforce health and wellbeing, and is active in GP education for Sustainable Healthcare, Planetary Health and Lifestyle Medicine. Andrée is Assistant Clinical Professor at University College Dublin, teaching medical students and on postgraduate courses. She was a member of the Executive Board of WONCA Europe 2013-2016, the Executive Board of EQuiP, www.qualityfamilymedicine.eu, and was EQuiP President 2022-2025. Andrée is a co-author of the European Definition of GP/FM 2023 and was co-chair of the Scientific Committee of the WONCA Europe Conference Dublin 2024. She is the national representative of the Irish College of GPs to EQuiP Council, WONCA Council, and chairs the new WONCA Europe SIG on Doctors Health & Wellbeing.

Mrs. Laetitia Labonne

Laetitia Labonne has twenty years of experience in institutional communication, event management, and association governance. After thirteen years at the consulting and lobbying firm M&M Conseil – Boury & Associés, where she headed the communication and events department and oversaw the organization of over a hundred parliamentary conferences, she joined the Collège de la Médecine Générale in 2014. As Operations Director, Laetitia Labonne supports the Federation’s governing bodies, oversees external communication alongside elected officials (including the annual congress, newsletters, and activity report), and manages administrative, financial, and partnership-related matters.

Dr. Sophie SUN

Sophie Sun is a general practitioner in Villeurbanne, France, passionate about enhancing healthcare quality and education. She is a former university clinical lecturer and she is still actively involved in teaching and research at the University of Lyon 1. Currently, she is a PhD candidate in public health, focusing on lifestyle behavior change support. In addition to her clinical work, Sophie serves as the deputy secretary of the College of General Medicine and is a member of an ethics committee dedicated to the protection of individuals.

Dr. Mihai Sorin Iacob, Family Medicine Senior Physician, Pediatric Specialist, ORCID

Dr Mihai-Sorin Iacob is a senior family physician and pediatric specialist based in Timișoara. A certified trainer in family medicine and expert in point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS), he is a PhD candidate in internal medicine and holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Communication. President of EUVEKUS/EADUS (Vienna), he promotes diagnostic innovation in primary care across Europe. In Romania, he coordinates the national ultrasound group in family medicine and serves on the Ministry of Health’s Family Medicine Specialties Commission. A long-standing WONCA Europe member, he is active in several networks (EURACT, EGPRN, EQUIP, EURIPA) and co-leads the development of the European Core Ultrasound Curriculum for frontline physicians.

Dr Alice Perrain is a General Practitioner based in a multidisciplinary health center near Amboise in the Loire Valley, France. In addition to her clinical work, she practices psychotherapy and is involved in teaching medical students. She organizes continuing medical education, contributes to primary care research, and holds responsibilities within territorial health organizations and a doctors’ union.

Dr. Sylvain Bouquet, General Practitioner

Dr. Sylvain Bouquet is a rural General Practitioner in France and Vice-President of the French College of General Practice. He coordinates national working groups on therapeutics and drug safety especially in pregnancy, pediatrics, and end-of-life care in collaboration with the French Medicines Agency (ANSM). As a university trainer and member of the scientific board for the CMGF annual conference, he is dedicated to training future GPs and fostering interprofessional collaboration.

Dr. Serge Gilberg, GP

Dr. Serge Gilberg practiced general medicine in a group practice in Paris for 42 years. He is Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Medicine, Paris Cité University, and a member of the scientific council of the French National College of General Practitioners (CNGE). He also leads the vaccination group of the Collège de la Médecine Générale (CMG).

Dr. Roar Maagaard, GP, Associate Professor (Retired)

Dr. Roar Maagaard practiced as a General Practitioner for 35 years in a large practice in Aarhus, Denmark. He is the current President of the Nordic Federation of GPs and a former President of the Danish College of GPs. Dr. Maagaard served many years on the EURACT Council, including as Honorary Secretary, and was President of the Host Organizing Committee for the WONCA Europe Conference in Copenhagen in 2016.

Dr. Radost Asenova

Radost Asenova is a certified family physician and Professor of General Practice at the Medical University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, where she has worked throughout her career. She holds a PhD and a DSc in Family Medicine, a Master’s degree in Public Health, and a specialization in Occupational Medicine. A dedicated academic and part-time GP, she is actively involved in national and international primary care development. She represents Bulgaria in WONCA Europe and EGPRN and is a founding member and former chair of the Bulgarian General Practice Society for Research and Education (BGPSRE). Since 2022, she has served on the Executive Boards of both WONCA Europe and EGPRN. Her work includes undergraduate and postgraduate education, research, and PhD supervision. She also serves on the editorial boards of the Bulgarian General Practice Journal and the Eurasian Journal of Family Medicine. Her research interests focus on patient-centered care, prevention, multimorbidity, and geriatrics.

Dr. Pavlo Kolesnyk, MD, PhD

Dr. Pavlo Kolesnyk is a GP/FM specialist and Head of the Family Medicine and Outpatient Care Department at Medical Faculty #2, Uzhgorod National University, Ukraine. He directs the international volunteer clinic “InerFamily,” supporting internally displaced people during the war in Ukraine. Dr. Kolesnyk serves as Ukraine’s National Representative and Head of the Education Materials and Methods Taskforce at EURACT, and represents Ukraine in EGPRN and EUROPREV WONCA Europe. He is a board member of the Ukrainian Association of Family Medicine and organizes European ABC courses for early career researchers in GP/FM. In 2023, he was awarded the “5 Star Doctor of WONCA Europe.”

Dr. Pauline Girard, General Practitioner

Dr. Pauline Girard works in a multi-professional health center near Grenoble. Since 2023, she has been a University Lecturer in the Department of General Practice at Grenoble Alpes University, focusing her teaching and research on health inequalities and planetary health. She is also a member of the scientific council for the Congrès de la Médecine Générale France (CMGF) since 2023.

Dr. Nina Monteiro, Family Doctor

Dr. Nina Monteiro is a Family Doctor based in Porto, Portugal. She is a board member of the Portuguese Association of Family Medicine and serves on the WONCA Europe Regional Equity Committee as well as the WONCA SIG Family Violence Steering Committee. She is also the former European Regional Lead for the WONCA Working Party on Women and Family Medicine.

Dr. Maeva Jego-Sablier, MD, PhD

Dr. Maeva Jego-Sablier is a General Practitioner working in a multi-professional health center in Marseille, focusing on care and research for vulnerable populations. Since 2022, she has been a University Lecturer in the Department of General Medicine at Aix-Marseille University and is affiliated with the CEReSS research unit. She serves on the scientific council of the French National College of General Practitioners (CNGE) and its congress scientific committee. Dr. Jego-Sablier is also a member of EGPRN, Deputy Secretary General of GROUM.F, and a former board member of FAYR-GP.

Dr. Jean-Claude Soulary, MD

Dr. Jean-Claude Soulary is a General Practitioner who worked in a primary care center in northern France until 1988. He has been actively involved in continuing medical education and served as President of MG Form from 2012 to 2016. Dr. Soulary was a member of the executive board of MG France, the leading French general practitioners’ union, from 2016 to 2024. Since 2020, he has been a board member of the Collège de la Médecine Générale.

Dr. Isabelle Cibois-Honnorat, MD

Dr. Isabelle Cibois-Honnorat has been a General Practitioner in a multi-professional health center in rural Mirabeau, southern France, since 1987. She is actively involved in both initial and continuing medical education. Dr. Cibois-Honnorat served as Chair of the Scientific Committee for the Congress of the Collège de la Médecine Générale (2019–2022) and is the founding President of SNECHO-MG, the French Society of Ultrasound in General Medicine.

Dr. Ferdinando Petrazzuoli MD, PhD, ORCID

Ferdinando Petrazzuoli has been a family doctor in his native, rural, village in Southern Italy for 40 years. PhD at the Center for Primary Health Care Research, Department of Clinical Sciences in Malmo, Lund University, Sweden in 2019 with the thesis: Dementia management in European Primary Care. Master of Science (MSc) in Primary Care & General Practice from the University of Ulster (United Kingdom) (2008). Since 2024 President of the European Rural and Isolated Practitioners Association (EURIPA: WONCA Europe- Network). From June 2022 on WONCA Europe Executive Bord member at large (EURIPA). From 2010 to 2019 member of the Executive Board of the European General Practice Research Network (EGPRN-WONCA Europe Network). Since 2022 June member of the executive board of the WONCA Europe Social Prescribing and Community Orientation Special Interest Group. From 2022 Contract docent at the School of Specialization in Community Medicine and Primary Care, University of Naples “Federico II”, Italy.

Dr. Bernard Gay, GP (Retired), Professor Emeritus

Bernard Gay is a retired General Practitioner who served for 40 years in a rural primary care center in southwest France. He is Professor Emeritus of General Practice at the University of Bordeaux, where he directed the Department of General Practice for 15 years. He has been a member of the Scientific Committee of EBM France and represented France at WONCA Europe and EURACT. Bernard Gay co-authored the European definition of general practice/family medicine and was President of the Scientific Committee for the WONCA Europe Conference in Paris, 2007.

Dr Arabelle Rieder

Dr Arabelle Rieder is a Swiss family doctor and academic teacher who works at Geneva Medical School as a senior lecturer since 2010. As head of Faculty developement in the Family Medicine Institute, she trains GP/FDs who mentor medical students and trainees in their practice.

Dr Aaron Poppleton

Dr Aaron Poppleton is a general practitioner, educational trainer, and academic researcher from the United Kingdom. He is an Executive Board member of WONCA Europe, representing the European Young Family Doctors Movement (EYFDM). He co-chairs the European Young Family Doctors Movement (EYFDM) Special Interest Groups for medical education and leadership. His research interests include migrant health, mental health and Point of Care Ultrasound (PoCUS) in family medicine. His PhD topic is “Cultural adaption of mental health care within UK general practice for patients from Central and Eastern Europe”.

Prof. dr. Zalika Klemenc Ketiš

Prof. Zalika Klemenc Ketiš is a distinguished family medicine specialist, currently serving as Chair of the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Maribor and the Institute for Research in Primary Care at the Community Health Centre Ljubljana. She brings extensive leadership experience from national and international health projects, including roles in Erasmus+ and EU Horizon-funded initiatives. As Honorary Treasurer of WONCA Europe and a member of several editorial and scientific boards, she actively contributes to shaping the field of primary healthcare.

Professor Olivier Saint-Lary, MD, PhD

Professor Olivier Saint-Lary is a General Practitioner at a multidisciplinary health center in Poissy and a Professor of General Practice at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. His academic research focuses on health services research. He currently serves as President of the French National College of Academic General Practitioners (Collège National des Généralistes Enseignants, CNGE).

Dr. Nuno Jacinto, General Practitioner

Dr. Nuno Jacinto is a Senior Graduate Assistant in Family Medicine and Clinical Director for Primary Health Care at the Local Health Unit (ULS) of Alentejo Central. He is President of the Portuguese Association of General Practice and Family Medicine (APMGF) and Co-chair of the Host Organizing Committee for the WONCA World Conference 2025. He holds a medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon and a postgraduate degree in Health Unit Administration from the University of Évora. Dr. Mathilde Minet, MD, General Practitioner

Dr. Mathilde Minet has been a General Practitioner in Mende, Lozère for the past 12 years. Dr. Julie Chastang

Dr. Julie Chastang is a general practitioner based in Fontenay-sous-Bois, near Paris. She is an Associate Professor at Sorbonne University and Vice President of the French College of General Practice. Deeply committed to health equity, her research focuses particularly on social health inequalities, especially those affecting children.

Dr. Jean-Pierre Jacquet, Retired General Practitioner

Dr. Jean-Pierre Jacquet is a retired General Practitioner and former Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Université Grenoble Alpes. He is the former President of EURIPA and currently serves on the Scientific Committee of MGForm. He is also a member of the Planetary Health Alliance (France).

Dr. Humbert de Fréminville, MD, PhD, HDR

Dr. Humbert de Fréminville has been a family physician in France for over 30 years. He is an associate professor and primary care researcher at Claude Bernard University Lyon 1. He also practices forensic medicine and serves as a court-appointed expert, specializing in victimology. Dr. de Fréminville has contributed to the WONCA Special Interest Group on Family Violence, is a member of UEMO, and a former member of EURACT. Since 2020, he has chaired the Research Ethics Committee at the University of Lyon.

Dr Fabien Besançon, GM

Dr Fabien Besançon is a French family physician practising in private practice in Egly (Essonne). He also contributes to early childhood care as a physician at a Centre for Early Medico-Social Action (CAMSP). Alongside his clinical work, he directs the medical-education organisation fmc-ActioN, presides over the Cœur Essonne Territorial Professional Health Community (CPTS) and serves as Secretary-General of the French College of General Practice (CMG). A committed advocate for multidisciplinary primary care and continuous professional development, he brings to the 2026 CMGF–WONCA Europe Congress both organisational expertise and the endurance mindset he has honed as a high-level swimrun athlete.

Dr. Daria Gheorghe

Daria Gheorghe is currently working as a General Practitioner in Strasbourg but also at the Family Planning providing sexual health consultations and at the Office for Immigration and Integration, providing healthcare consultations for refugees and asylum seekers. She is also chef de clinique, a teaching and research position and the Faculty of Medicine in Strasbourg. At an international level, Daria has been the president of EYFDM (European Young Family Doctors’ Movement) since January 2025.

Dr. Agathe Scemama General Practitioner

Dr. Agathe Scemama, MD, General Practitioner Dr. Agathe Scemama has been practicing private medicine since 2006 and has supervised medical interns since 2014. She currently serves on the board of the Collège de la Médecine Générale (2023–2025), the organizing committee of the CMGF (2024–2026), and the board of MG Form (2025–2027).

Dr. Andry Rabiaza, General Practitioner

Dr. Andry Rabiaza has been a General Practitioner in Deauville, Normandy since 2016. A former in-practice fellow, he currently teaches part-time at the Department of General Practice at the University of Caen Normandy. His research focuses on physician-patient relationships and medical education.
