Unwanted loneliness is widely recognized as a significant social determinant of health in the geriatric population, linked to poorer mental and physical outcomes. However, the specific influence of gender on the subjective experience of loneliness and its intensity among community-dwelling older adults warrants further investigation in primary care settings.
