Before/After study of a Decision Aid for women eligible for breast cancer screening

Théo GILSON

Breast Cancer screening has an unclear benefit/risk ratio according to the litterature. We have developed a Decision Aid (DA) for women at average risk of breast cancer to facilitate shared medical decision-making and informed choices regarding their participation in organized breast cancer screening. This DA is intended to provide balanced information on the benefits and harms of screening, based on french data. This study aims to assess whether the tool is clear and comprehensible, reduces decision-making conflicts, and improves knowledge of the benefits and harms of screening mammography.

Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD) affect over 60 million people worldwide, resulting in significant emotional burden on informal caregivers. Social Determinants of Osteoporosis Risk Using Easily Identifiable OSTA Scores Among Singaporean Rental-flat Residents

Zi Xuan NG

Osteoporosis is a rising public health burden in rapidly ageing Asian societies, including Singapore, where hip fracture rates rank among the highest globally. The role of social determinants and healthcare access in shaping osteoporosis vulnerability remains under-explored despite robust characterisation of biological risk. Understanding these relationships may support more equitable screening and prevention strategies in primary care. We examined osteoporosis risk association with socioeconomic and healthcare utilisation factors in Singaporean rental-flat residents.

Impact of a brief health education intervention on endocrine disruptor exposure in pregnant women and parents in primary care

Isabelle ROZIER

The prenatal period and the first two years of life (the first 1000 days) represent critical windows of susceptibility and exposure to various environmental factors. Studies have shown associations between prenatal exposure to certain chemicals and adverse effects on pregnancy outcomes, newborn health, and long-term child development. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of a brief 5-minute health education intervention on endocrine disruptors, delivered by healthcare professionals, on changing the behaviors of pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy and parents of children under two years of age, three months after receiving the information.

Understanding how patients with chronic diseases shape their preferences: insights for general practitioners

Gilles CORNELIS

Taking patient preferences into account is a recognised quality criterion in the care of patients with chronic diseases. However, the concept of preference remains insufficiently defined in medicine, and little literature explores how patients themselves understand what a preference actually means. The aim of this ongoing research is to examine how patients develop their preferences in relation to their experience of chronic illness and the care they receive, with particular attention to the potential role of the general practitioner.
