The homeless population is defined as a group of individuals living without regular conventional housing, in conditions of extreme poverty, with weakened or disrupted family ties, and facing significant barriers to accessing health care services. This limited access contributes to a lifetime prevalence of mental disorders in this group that exceeds 70%. Depression is a major public health problem that worsens chronic disease outcomes and burdens patients, families, and healthcare systems. Although air pollution is a potentially modifiable environmental factor, existing studies report mixed results and underrepresent XXX primary care populations. Clarifying whether long-term exposure relates to depression in these settings can guide screening, counseling, and collaboration with public health efforts. This study explores family physician loneliness versus connectedness in their work environment.  The loss of connectedness has been tied to negative impacts for physicians and is a potential contributor to eventual disillusionment in their careers.  This study focuses on the workplace of family physicians in three provinces in Canada (ON, NS, NL) to examine work environment and the contributors to a decrease in wellbeing and connectedness.  It is recognized that the need to feel connected within one’s work environment is an inherent part of motivation and satisfaction. The overall goal of this study is to increase understanding of how and why the work environment for family physicians has affected their wellbeing, particularly their sense of belonging, value and career enjoyment.
