Improving the primary prevention of atherosclerotic CVD in patients with COPD in the primary care setting

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular diseases including atherosclerotic CVD (ASCVD), stroke, heart failure (HF) and atrial fibrillation (AF).(1) Patients with COPD may therefore be eligible for primary prevention of ASCVD by offering lipid lowering therapy (LLT).
