Impact of a two-month community hospital rotation on PGY doctors’ competencies in palliative care in Taiwan

Ya-Hui NIEN, Liang Hao HSU and Ting-Fang CHIU

In Taiwan, postgraduate year (PGY) training requires doctors to complete a two-month community hospital rotation, which includes exposure to long-term care and palliative medicine. Educational interventions during this period usually consist of lectures, ward observations, and home visits focusing on end-of-life care. However, evidence on the measurable learning outcomes of such programs in Taiwan remains limited.
