Adolescents often visit our practice with psychosocial problems and medically unexplained symptoms such as tiredness, headache or abdominal pain. By just focusing on the presented symptom, problems are often not solved. Collaboration between the adolescent, the caregivers, and the GP by using easy and structural visualization tools (Positive Health and mindmapping) systematically can enhance resilience and recovery by empowering the adolescent to make choices of change. In an implementation study, this approach also increased work pleasure for GPs.To learn about the background, experiences and implementation of the easy visualization Positive Health (spiderweb) and the mindmapping tools. Both tools provide insight (for the adolescent and the GP) in the current health situation with a broad perspective towards health. The focus will be on the strengths and empowerment of the adolescent. The tools emphasize working together with the adolescent, and invite the adolescent to reflect on the current situation rather than just at the problem and encourages them to make choices that improve the situation themselves. After explanation of both visualization tools, best practices with Positive Health for adolescents will be shared. The participants are invited to practice and experience both tools in groups of 3, the GP, the teen and the observer. introduction of both visualization tools (10 min) practice in groups of three with both tools and psychosocial cases (40 min) discussion, take home messages, how start tomorrow (10 min)Participants will be inspired by tools with a broad perspective on health for adolescents. They will not only learn about the empowerment for the young adults and the positive effect on workpleasure of the GP's, they will also experience it themselves. By working in small groups the participants will feel the power of the visual support of the tools, followed by setting goals, and examining ways for solution and broaden their GPs toolkit. After the workshop colleagues will be inspired how Positive Health and mindmapping tools support shared decision making in adolescents with psychosocial problems and are curious to start working with this tool and apply this the next day in their own work.
