Cardiovascular diseases are one of the main causes of mortality and morbidity worldwide. The effectiveness of Cardiac Rehabilitation programmes (CRP) after acute coronary syndrome (ACS) has been previously stablished, however the effectiveness of CRP in Primary Healthcare (PHC) has not been clearly evaluated from a population-based analysis. To assess cardiovascular risk factor (CVRF) control, lifestyle modifications, comorbidities and follow-up of patients after ACS in a healthcare area where a new CRP including PHC has been implemented. For the purposes of this study, we included all individuals with a new ICD-10-CM code for ACS in 2021 and in 2024 in our healthcare area. To evaluate the association of the new CRP with outcomes we compared results from 2021 (pre-implementation) with 2024 (post-implementation. We performed a multivariate adjusted Cox proportional hazard model.A total of 256 patients were included in the study (166 in 2021 and 193 in 2024). We are still in the process of data analysis but with some good preliminary data we aim to be able to have really interesting population-based results.Unable to do until finishing the evaluation.PHC has a key role in CRP in patients after ACS, there is a need of population-based studies to assess effectiveness of them including all profiles of patients.
