In primary care, these hidden assumptions can shape team dynamics, influence opportunities, and even affect patient care. Bias isn’t a sign of bad character; it’s simply how human brains work. The real leadership challenge is learning to notice it and minimise its impact. When we don’t, autonomy, fairness and team cohesion can quietly erode. This workshop frames bias as an essential leadership competency, not a personal flaw, and invites leaders to explore how awareness and reflective practice can strengthen both teams and patient outcomes.This workshop aims to:Help leaders recognise unconscious bias as a natural cognitive process with real consequences.*Use **Liberty, Equality and Fraternity** to explore how bias affects autonomy, fairness and team cohesion.*Build leaders’ confidence in using practical tools to reduce bias and promote inclusive, psychologically safe teams. <br>Participants engage in interactive games, case-based discussions and reflective exercises, including optional Implicit Association Tests. We explore real-life scenarios from clinical and leadership settings and introduce simple habits inspired by the *7 Habits of Highly Effective GPs* to support ongoing self-awarenes Workshop Schedule (1 hour)0–10 min — Introduction: welcome, why bias matters in leadership, and brief reflection on personal values. 10–25 min — Bias in Action:Interactive activities +/- quick scenarios that reveal how bias appears in everyday decisions. ( IA Test use ) 25–40 min — Leadership Conversations:Small groups explore how to respond to situations involving bias, using active listening, reflective questioning and inclusive communication. 40–55 min — Action Strategies:Developing practical steps to reduce bias in team meetings, recruitment, supervision, clinical decision-making and workload distribution. 55–60 min — Takeaways:Individual commitment/ Reflection+ closingParticipants will leave with greater awareness of their own biases, practical tools to reduce their impact, and improved confidence in leading fairer, safer and more inclusive teams. <br>Unconscious bias isn’t something we eliminate — it’s something we learn to manage.
