Dr. Dorien Zwart

Dorien Zwart, M.D., Ph.D, is a practicing family doctor and professor of General Practice/Family Medicine and head of Department of General Practice & Nursing at University Medical Center MC Utrecht in The Netherlands. Her research focuses on quality and safety of innovation in general practice. Dorien is the current president of the EQuiP network and was president of the host organizing committee of the WONCA Europe 2021 conference in Amsterdam.

Dr. Guzin Zeren Ozturk

Dr. Guzin Zeren Ozturk is a Professor of Family Medicine and the Chief of the Education Clinic at the Department of Family Medicine, Sisli Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital in Istanbul, where she oversees the training of 64 residents. She has been serving as the President of the Turkish Association of Family Physicians (TAHUD) since 2024. Her research interests focus on vaccine smoking cessation and preventive medicine.

Dr. Edward Zammit

Dr. Edward Zammit is a Principal General Practitioner in Malta’s Primary Health Care Department and serves as Immediate Past President, Vice President, and Education Secretary of the Malta College of Family Doctors. A dedicated leader in medical education and assessment, he has strengthened national training and examination standards through strategic collaborations with the RCGP and WONCA Europe. Dr. Zammit has championed educational innovation and quality improvement initiatives that have transformed family medicine training in Malta. He continues to mentor the next generation of family doctors and remains committed to advancing primary care excellence across diverse communities.

Dr. Andreas Stomby

Andreas Stomby is the president of the Swedish Association of General Practice. He works as a General Practitioner in Region Jönköping county and is also Associate Professor in General Practice at Linköping University, Sweden. He supervises several PhD students and is the principal investigator of several research projects on type 2-diabetes and digital health care, cardiovascular disease prevention in primary care and deimplementation of low-value care.  

Dr. Aleksander Stepanović

Aleksander Stepanović, MD, PhD, is a specialist in general medicine, with a particular focus on pain management and palliative care. He is the director of the Škofja Loka Health Centre, where he works as a family physician. He is also partially employed at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, in the Department of Family Medicine.
He is president of the Association of Family Physicians within the Slovenian Medical Association, a quality supervisor for the family medicine specialisation at the Medical Chamber of Slovenia and a member of the Expert Council for Family Medicine at the Slovenian Ministry of Health.
He regularly lectures at national and international conferences of family physicians and has published numerous articles as author or co-author in reputable domestic and international medical journals.

Dr. Thomas Patel-Campbell

lDr Thomas Patel-Campbell is Vice Chair (Finance and Member Value) for the Royal College of General Practitioners in the UK. He is the lead officer for RCGP’s international work, as well as leading on membership, finances, estates and digital, and sits on the RCGP Trustee Board.
He is the RCGP’s representative to WONCA World and European councils, and attends UEMO meetings by invitation of the British Medical Association.
A GP partner working in an at-scale practice which provides care to 95,000 patients, in addition to his clinical responsibilities he is also the practice’s Director of Clinical Operations. He has interests in health inequalities, leadership, respiratory medicine, and digital transformation.

Dr. Kateřina Javorská

Dr. Kateřina Javorská graduated from Charles University, Prague, in 2003 and obtained her specialty certification in General Practice in 2007. Dr Alessandro Mereu

Alessandro Mereu is an Italian General Practitioner in Tuscany, active in clinical practice, medical education, and primary care innovation. Dr. Troels Mengel-Jørgensen

Troels Mengel-Jørgensen is a general practitioner in Vodskov, Northern Jutland, Denmark. Since 2022, he has been board member of Danish College of General Practitioners (DSAM), being spokesman for research and international relations. His passion is the use of point-of-care ultrasound in general practice. He has been associated to the ultrasound group at Center for General Medicine (CAMAAU) at Aalborg University, since the center started 10 years ago. Dr. Juan A. López-Rodríguez

Juan A. López-Rodríguez, MD, PhD, is a Family and Community Medicine specialist and Associate Professor at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Madrid, Spain). He serves as International Officer of semFYC (Spanish Society of Family and Community Medicine) and collaborates with WONCA Europe and WHO projects on primary care, mental health, and health systems strengthening. His academic and research work focuses on innovation, clinical communication, and the integration of digital and AI tools into primary care practice.

Dr. Jerbi Habib

Habib Jerbi, a general practitioner for 40 years, has dedicated his career to family medicine in Tunisia. A former member of the Tunisian Society of Family Medicine, he also served as Secretary General of the Tunisian Union of Independent Physicians and as a member of the Medical Council of the Central Region. He is currently President of the Tunisian Society of General and Family Medicine (STMGF).

Dr. Tamar Gabunia

Dr. Gabunia MD, MPH is a certified Family Physician in Georgia and works as a consultant at National Family Medicine Training Center. She is a founder and a board member of the Georgia Family Medicine Association. Dr. Gabunia has spent the last 18 years in senior-level management positions leading and supporting public health initiatives, including TB, Malaria, HIV, Primary Health Care, health financing, governance, and human resources.

Dr. Gindrovel Dumitra

Dr. Dumitra is a primary care physician in Family Medicine based in Sadova, Dolj County, Romania. He serves as an Associate Professor at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova.

Dr. Dumitra is highly active in national and international medical organizations. He is the Vice President of the Romanian National Society of Family Medicine (SNMF) and the Secretary General of the Romanian College of Physicians (CMR). Internationally, he serves in the past as the Secretary General of the European Union of General Practitioners/Family Physicians (UEMO).

Dr. Andrée Rochfort

Dr Andrée Rochfort is a GP with over 30 years of clinical experience. In the Irish College of GPs, she is Director of Quality Improvement, centered on supporting GP workforce health and wellbeing, and is active in GP education for Sustainable Healthcare, Planetary Health and Lifestyle Medicine. Andrée is Assistant Clinical Professor at University College Dublin, teaching medical students and on postgraduate courses. She was a member of the Executive Board of WONCA Europe 2013-2016, the Executive Board of EQuiP, www.qualityfamilymedicine.eu, and was EQuiP President 2022-2025. Andrée is a co-author of the European Definition of GP/FM 2023 and was co-chair of the Scientific Committee of the WONCA Europe Conference Dublin 2024. She is the national representative of the Irish College of GPs to EQuiP Council, WONCA Council, and chairs the new WONCA Europe SIG on Doctors Health & Wellbeing.

Mrs. Laetitia Labonne

Laetitia Labonne has twenty years of experience in institutional communication, event management, and association governance. After thirteen years at the consulting and lobbying firm M&M Conseil – Boury & Associés, where she headed the communication and events department and oversaw the organization of over a hundred parliamentary conferences, she joined the Collège de la Médecine Générale in 2014. As Operations Director, Laetitia Labonne supports the Federation’s governing bodies, oversees external communication alongside elected officials (including the annual congress, newsletters, and activity report), and manages administrative, financial, and partnership-related matters.

Sophie Sun is a general practitioner in Villeurbanne, France, passionate about enhancing healthcare quality and education. She is a former university clinical lecturer and she is still actively involved in teaching and research at the University of Lyon 1. Currently, she is a PhD candidate in public health, focusing on lifestyle behavior change support. Dr Mihai-Sorin Iacob is a senior family physician and pediatric specialist based in Timișoara. A certified trainer in family medicine and expert in point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS), he is a PhD candidate in internal medicine and holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Communication. President of EUVEKUS/EADUS (Vienna), he promotes diagnostic innovation in primary care across Europe. In Romania, he coordinates the national ultrasound group in family medicine and serves on the Ministry of Health’s Family Medicine Specialties Commission. A long-standing WONCA Europe member, he is active in several networks (EURACT, EGPRN, EQUIP, EURIPA) and co-leads the development of the European Core Ultrasound Curriculum for frontline physicians.

Dr. Roar Maagaard, GP, Associate Professor (Retired)
Dr. Roar Maagaard practiced as a General Practitioner for 35 years in a large practice in Aarhus, Denmark. He is the current President of the Nordic Federation of GPs and a former President of the Danish College of GPs. Dr. Maagaard served many years on the EURACT Council, including as Honorary Secretary, and was President of the Host Organizing Committee for the WONCA Europe Conference in Copenhagen in 2016.
Dr. Radost Asenova
Radost Asenova is a certified family physician and Professor of General Practice at the Medical University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, where she has worked throughout her career. She holds a PhD and a DSc in Family Medicine, a Master’s degree in Public Health, and a specialization in Occupational Medicine. A dedicated academic and part-time GP, she is actively involved in national and international primary care development. She represents Bulgaria in WONCA Europe and EGPRN and is a founding member and former chair of the Bulgarian General Practice Society for Research and Education (BGPSRE). Since 2022, she has served on the Executive Boards of both WONCA Europe and EGPRN. Her work includes undergraduate and postgraduate education, research, and PhD supervision. Dr. Pavlo Kolesnyk, MD, PhD
Dr. Pavlo Kolesnyk is a GP/FM specialist and Head of the Family Medicine and Outpatient Care Department at Medical Faculty #2, Uzhgorod National University, Ukraine. He directs the international volunteer clinic “InerFamily,” supporting internally displaced people during the war in Ukraine. Dr. Kolesnyk serves as Ukraine’s National Representative and Head of the Education Materials and Methods Taskforce at EURACT, and represents Ukraine in EGPRN and EUROPREV WONCA Europe. He is a board member of the Ukrainian Association of Family Medicine and organizes European ABC courses for early career researchers in GP/FM. In 2023, he was awarded the “5 Star Doctor of WONCA Europe.”
Dr. Pauline Girard, General Practitioner

Dr. Nina Monteiro, Family Doctor
Dr. Nina Monteiro is a Family Doctor based in Porto, Portugal. She is a board member of the Portuguese Association of Family Medicine and serves on the WONCA Europe Regional Equity Committee as well as the WONCA SIG Family Violence Steering Committee. She is also the former European Regional Lead for the WONCA Working Party on Women and Family Medicine.
Dr. Maeva Jego-Sablier, MD, PhD
Dr. Maeva Jego-Sablier is a General Practitioner working in a multi-professional health center in Marseille, focusing on care and research for vulnerable populations. Since 2022, she has been a University Lecturer in the Department of General Medicine at Aix-Marseille University and is affiliated with the CEReSS research unit. Dr. Jean-Claude Soulary, MD
Dr. Jean-Claude Soulary is a General Practitioner who worked in a primary care center in northern France until 1988. He has been actively involved in continuing medical education and served as President of MG Form from 2012 to 2016. Dr. Soulary was a member of the executive board of MG France, the leading French general practitioners’ union, from 2016 to 2024. Since 2020, he has been a board member of the Collège de la Médecine Générale.
Dr. Isabelle Cibois-Honnorat, MD
Dr. Isabelle Cibois-Honnorat has been a General Practitioner in a multi-professional health center in rural Mirabeau, southern France, since 1987. She is actively involved in both initial and continuing medical education. Dr. Cibois-Honnorat served as Chair of the Scientific Committee for the Congress of the Collège de la Médecine Générale (2019–2022) and is the founding President of SNECHO-MG, the French Society of Ultrasound in General Medicine.

Dr. Bernard Gay, GP (Retired), Professor Emeritus
Bernard Gay is a retired General Practitioner who served for 40 years in a rural primary care center in southwest France. He is Professor Emeritus of General Practice at the University of Bordeaux, where he directed the Department of General Practice for 15 years. He has been a member of the Scientific Committee of EBM France and represented France at WONCA Europe and EURACT. Bernard Gay co-authored the European definition of general practice/family medicine and was President of the Scientific Committee for the WONCA Europe Conference in Paris, 2007.
Dr Arabelle Rieder
Dr Arabelle Rieder is a Swiss family doctor and academic teacher who works at Geneva Medical School as a senior lecturer since 2010. As head of Faculty developement in the Family Medicine Institute, she trains GP/FDs who mentor medical students and trainees in their practice.
Dr Aaron Poppleton
Dr Aaron Poppleton is a general practitioner, educational trainer, and academic researcher from the United Kingdom. He is an Executive Board member of WONCA Europe, representing the European Young Family Doctors Movement (EYFDM). He co-chairs the European Young Family Doctors Movement (EYFDM) Special Interest Groups for medical education and leadership. His research interests include migrant health, mental health and Point of Care Ultrasound (PoCUS) in family medicine. His PhD topic is “Cultural adaption of mental health care within UK general practice for patients from Central and Eastern Europe”.
Prof. dr. Zalika Klemenc Ketiš
Prof. Zalika Klemenc Ketiš is a distinguished family medicine specialist, currently serving as Chair of the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Maribor and the Institute for Research in Primary Care at the Community Health Centre Ljubljana. She brings extensive leadership experience from national and international health projects, including roles in Erasmus+ and EU Horizon-funded initiatives. As Honorary Treasurer of WONCA Europe and a member of several editorial and scientific boards, she actively contributes to shaping the field of primary healthcare.
Prof. Dr. med. Thomas Frese
Prof. Dr. med. Thomas Frese is Director of the Institute of General Practice at the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg and a practicing GP in rural Saxony. He has held his professorship since 2016 and serves as Managing Director of a regional primary care center. His research focuses on diabetes care, consultation reasons, assistive technologies, and interprofessional communication in primary care. He is President Elect of WONCA Europe.
Dr. Paul Frappé
Dr. Paul Frappé is a general practionner at a multi-professional health center in Saint-Etienne, working with other GPs, nurses, midwive, speech therapists and neuropsychologist. He is involved in territorial organization of healthcare through the « CPTS of Grand Saint-Etienne ». Professor at Saint-Etienne University, he has been president of the French College of General Practice since 2019.
Professor Olivier Saint-Lary, MD, PhD
Professor Olivier Saint-Lary is a General Practitioner at a multidisciplinary health center in Poissy and a Professor of General Practice at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. His academic research focuses on health services research. He currently serves as President of the French National College of Academic General Practitioners (Collège National des Généralistes Enseignants, CNGE).
Dr. Nuno Jacinto, General Practitioner
Dr. Nuno Jacinto is a Senior Graduate Assistant in Family Medicine and Clinical Director for Primary Health Care at the Local Health Unit (ULS) of Alentejo Central. She is an Associate Professor at Sorbonne University and Vice President of the French College of General Practice. Deeply committed to health equity, her research focuses particularly on social health inequalities, especially those affecting children.

Dr. Jean-Pierre Jacquet is a retired General Practitioner and former Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Université Grenoble Alpes. He is the former President of EURIPA and currently serves on the Scientific Committee of MGForm. He is also a member of the Planetary Health Alliance (France).
Dr. Humbert de Fréminville, MD, PhD, HDR
Dr. Humbert de Fréminville has been a family physician in France for over 30 years. He is an associate professor and primary care researcher at Claude Bernard University Lyon 1. He also practices forensic medicine and serves as a court-appointed expert, specializing in victimology. Dr. de Fréminville has contributed to the WONCA Special Interest Group on Family Violence, is a member of UEMO, and a former member of EURACT. Since 2020, he has chaired the Research Ethics Committee at the University of Lyon.
Dr Fabien Besançon, GM
Dr Fabien Besançon is a French family physician practising in private practice in Egly (Essonne). He also contributes to early childhood care as a physician at a Centre for Early Medico-Social Action (CAMSP). Alongside his clinical work, he directs the medical-education organisation fmc-ActioN, presides over the Cœur Essonne Territorial Professional Health Community (CPTS) and serves as Secretary-General of the French College of General Practice (CMG). A committed advocate for multidisciplinary primary care and continuous professional development, he brings to the 2026 CMGF–WONCA Europe Congress both organisational expertise and the endurance mindset he has honed as a high-level swimrun athlete.
Dr. Daria Gheorghe
Daria Gheorghe is currently working as a General Practitioner in Strasbourg but also at the Family Planning providing sexual health consultations and at the Office for Immigration and Integration, providing healthcare consultations for refugees and asylum seekers. She is also chef de clinique, a teaching and research position and the Faculty of Medicine in Strasbourg. At an international level, Daria has been the president of EYFDM (European Young Family Doctors’ Movement) since January 2025.
