We present case of a young woman who \u00a0noticed gum hypertrophy 2 months after starting the amlodipineObservation made. Pt was seen by Dentist and agreed the amlodipine most likely culprit Prior to medication use , she had regular check up with dentist and her gums were normal She took no other medications except amlodipine which was started after she was diagnosed with hypertension\u00a0 She had no history of gum bleeding. She had regular diet consisting of fruits , vegetables and proteins including fishGum hypertrophy from dihydropyridine \u00a0amlodipine is rare but it&#039;s possible this may be due to under reportingAdvise patients before starting and increasing to maximum dose that gum hypertrophy is a rare possibility which may not resolve after discontinuing the medicationPrecise mechanism for this adverse effect \u00a0of gum hypertrophy due to amlodipine remains elusive.
