In resource-constrained settings like Kosovo, the integration of AI into primary care could address systemic challenges such as workforce shortages, fragmented health data systems, and the growing burden of chronic diseases. This study aims to investigate the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in diagnostic medicine within Kosovo\u2019s primary healthcare system, focusing on the perspectives of family physicians. The primary objectives are:To explore how family physicians in Kosovo perceive the potential benefits and challenges of incorporating AI technologies into primary care. Using a qualitative research design, semi-structured interviews were conducted with approximately 70 family physicians across diverse regions of Kosovo. Participants were selected through purposive sampling to ensure variation in experience, specialty, and geographic context. Thematic analysis, supported by NVivo software, was employed to identify key patterns and insights. Preliminary findings from the interviews indicate that family physicians in Kosovo recognize the potential benefits of AI in enhancing primary care delivery. Many participants expressed optimism about AI&#039;s ability to improve diagnostic accuracy and reduce the burden of administrative tasks. For instance, several physicians noted that AI tools could assist in identifying patients at risk for chronic diseases, enabling early interventions and personalized care plans.The integration of AI into primary care in Kosovo presents both opportunities and challenges. The positive perspectives of family physicians suggest a willingness to embrace technological advancements that can enhance patient care. However, addressing ethical concerns and ensuring that healthcare providers are adequately trained to use AI tools are essential steps in the implementation process. Moreover, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, including policymakers, healthcare administrators, and technology developers, is crucial for creating an environment conducive to AI integration. By working together, these stakeholders can develop guidelines and best practices that prioritize patient care while leveraging the advantages of AI technologies.The integration of AI in primary care has the potential to transform healthcare delivery in Kosovo, as highlighted by the perspectives of family physicians in this study.
