As fatigue becomes more severe, cognitive dysfunction such as poor concentration and increased reaction time become more pronounced. However, there are few ways to objectively measure these symptoms. There are some reports that CFFT helps evaluate such symptoms, but the results are inconsistent.This study investigated the usefulness of CFFT as an objective tool for evaluating cognitive dysfunction of patients with fatigue symptomPatients aged 20~65 who complained of chronic fatigue and visited family medicine clinic were studied. The severity of fatigue symptoms was assessed by a series of questionnaires such as VAS-F (Visual Analysis Scale for Fatigue), Chalder&#039;s Fatigue Scale, SDS, STAI, SRI and a CFFT equipment. A Case-control study was conducted comparing the results with control group not complaining of fatigue symptoms.This study included 509 patients with chronic fatigue and 194 healthy controls. The mean of CFFT was 36.9\u00b13.2 Hz in the fatigue patient group and 38.7\u00b14.5 in the control group (p&lt;0.01). By age group, the CFFT mean of fatigue patients and control group was 36.9\u00b12.6 and 38.9\u00b14.9 (p&lt;0.05) in those in 20s, 36.8\u00b12.7 and 38.5\u00b14.1 (p&lt;0.01) in 30s, 36.7\u00b13.7 and 38.8\u00b14.6 (p&lt;0.01) in 40s, and 37.0\u00b13.4 and 38.8\u00b13.6 (p&lt;0.05) in their 50s, respectively. The correlation between CFFT and the fatigue scale was r=-0.165 (p&lt;0.01) with VAS-F, and r=-0.228 (p&lt;0.01) with mental fatigue of Chalder&#039;s Fatigue Scale. The correlation between CFFT and depression, stress scale was r=-0.193 (p&lt;0.01), r=-0.213 (p&lt;0.01), respectively.In this study CFFT was lower in the fatigue patient group and tended to decrease as the subjective fatigue symptom became more severe. However, due to various limitations such as measuring equipment, environmental conditions, the effects of psychopharmacological drug use, and the lack of information on the extent of minimal difference that have clinical significance, further detailed studies are needed.Based on the results of this study, CFFT is considered to be a useful objective measurement tool that can be used in conjunction with existing tools to assess fatigue symptoms easily, and more comprehensively.
