It\u00a0is an international collaboration\u00a0by\u00a0a\u00a0UK based\u00a0global\u00a0health\u00a0partnership,\u00a0aiming\u00a0to improve the scope and\u00a0utilisation\u00a0of AHP roles within palliative care in India.The abstract draws on preliminary observations from an August 2025 visit to the XXX hospice in India.\u00a0The final reflection will\u00a0incorporate\u00a0findings from a more comprehensive dataset\u00a0collected\u00a0during a follow-up survey in February\u00a02026. The outcome of the project is\u00a0to design a structured training\u00a0programme\u00a0for\u00a0Indian\u00a0AHP\u2019s visiting the UK in summer 2026. Key limitations include differing socio-cultural contexts and communication\u00a0challenges. Indian data derive from a single site, while UK data\u00a0represent\u00a0national statistics.No known studies have examined similar cross-cultural approaches to AHP development in palliative care.The UK team was\u00a0struck\u00a0by the\u00a0central role\u00a0families play in palliative care delivery in India,\u00a0where healthcare workers empower\u00a0family members and use\u00a0existing social structures to deliver compassionate care.\u00a0Care in the Indian setting was noted to be\u00a0more\u00a0sustainable and\u00a0resource-efficient.\u00a0\u00a0 Both teams\u00a0recognised\u00a0that national policy and funding structures profoundly shape hospice care. The Indian team gained awareness of early\u00a0referral pathways\u00a0for end-of-life patients\u00a0and\u00a0the benefits of\u00a0early\u00a0palliative intervention\u00a0for\u00a0people with non-malignant disease.Preliminary findings\u00a0emphasise\u00a0the value of international collaboration in shaping more holistic, sustainable, and culturally sensitive models of palliative care.\u00a0AHP involvement in Indian palliative care\u00a0remains\u00a0at an early\u00a0stage.\u00a0Observations\u00a0from\u00a0both teams\u00a0highlighted key similarities and differences in practice. Findings from the\u00a0February\u00a02026 visit are expected to\u00a0identify\u00a0opportunities for mutual learning and\u00a0inform\u00a0development of a targeted blended training\u00a0programme\u00a0to strengthen AHP capacity.This project\u00a0demonstrates\u00a0that\u00a0equitable\u00a0global partnerships enable\u00a0two-way\u00a0learning, regardless of socio-economic contexts.\u00a0Cross-cultural understanding\u00a0facilitates\u00a0interprofessional fraternity and shared purpose among healthcare workers working in a\u00a0community\u00a0palliative care.\u00a0Future initiatives will strengthen this collaboration through\u00a0continued empowerment of AHP\u2019s\u00a0to deliver\u00a0high quality end-of-life care.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-20787","wsa_session","type-wsa_session","status-publish","hentry","description-off"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/woncaeurope2026.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/wsa_session\/20787","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/woncaeurope2026.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/wsa_session"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/woncaeurope2026.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/wsa_session"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/woncaeurope2026.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=20787"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
