As per NICE, GP must provide follow up care for 12 months after completion of treatment regime. We believe this increases in practice workload in future due to clinical monitoring and investigations in NHS practicesAim: 1.Document number of patients are in weight loss injection from private providers. As per NICE recommendation 2. To check BMI recorded at least 12 months prior to start of the medications 3. To check any blood parameters are available within last 12 months 4. To formulate a pathway for future monitoring within surgeryThe private letters received are checked and the medication is coded in patient records as hospital only prescription. This led to total of 190 patients are taking the weight loss injections. 50 are males and 140 are females47 patients are treated in private sector. 3 diabetic patients are having injections via surgery. 18 are males and 32 are females. The age range is 24 years to 82 years. BMI recorded within 12 months prior to start of treatment is for 32 patients. 18 patients have no BMI recorded in last 12 months. There were few patients who are less than BMI of 30 are in these injection regimeThe coding of private letters has helped us to understand the perception of our patients willing to use the weight loss injections and it created a subset. Unfortunately, many of our studied patients have no recorded blood tests within last twelve months for liver, renal function, FBC and HbA1C as prerequisite for commencing GLP1 analogue injections for obesity management.These patients are approaching NHS General practices for evaluation of adverse events\u00a0 as many private providers do not have proper mechanism for clinical monitoring and most of the patients are self paying for their treatment.\u00a0 It is important to maintain safety of our patients, so we have collabrated the use of technology by online self-reporting for monitoring the adverse events.This leads to better care in follow up of these patients.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-20702","wsa_session","type-wsa_session","status-publish","hentry","description-off"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/woncaeurope2026.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/wsa_session\/20702","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/woncaeurope2026.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/wsa_session"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/woncaeurope2026.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/wsa_session"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/woncaeurope2026.org\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=20702"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
