Early detection and proper risk assessment are critical to avoid complications. Training healthcare professionals requires both technical skills and empathetic communication. This report outlines a simulation-based educational approach to enhance these competencies for managing dengue without warning signsA clinical simulation was held in a PHC Unit with a standardized patient showing typical non-severe dengue symptoms. Groups of 3 or 4 medical students completed triage, focused history, warning sign examination, patient education, and disposition planning. The session followed an advocacy inquiry debrief and national dengue guidelines. The originality of this approach lies not only in its focus on dengue in Primary Health Care (PHC), but also in the combination of technical and interpersonal skills, preparing future professionals to offer more comprehensive and person-centered care, aligned with the health needs of the Brazilian population.Students showed improved confidence in distinguishing dengue without warning signs from potentially severe presentations, and provided more structured, empathetic communication during debriefing. The experience highlighted the need to reinforce recognition of clinical red flags and safety-net instructions. Plans include development of progressively complex scenarios, incorporation of practicing PHC teams and structured evaluation metrics to assess impact. The simulation proved effective for training in dengue case management, providing a valuable practical experience.
