I am now heavily involved in RCGP Scotland &amp; Chair for my faculty, as well as UK Rep. I have been telling my story to UK conferences &#8211; the last time was to RCGP UK National Conference, main stage, which received a standing ovation. The feedback is always excellent. I plan to highlight drug-addiction behaviours &amp; how to signpost addicts towards Recovery. Many of the suggestions can be used in day-to-day practice &amp; help doctors establish rapport with addicted patients.Play the &quot;A to Z&quot; game of drug misuse &#8211; actual names, street names or ways of taking &#8211; to highlight drug trends. Always a fun interactive experience. Then I tell my own addiction\/recovery story, highlighting how to avoid pitfalls in prescribing to addicts. Finish with Q&amp;A session.Interactive game, then presentation, then Q&amp;A.Reduce stigma &amp; prejudices in dealing with addicts. Increased knowledge of why addicts behave in certain ways, &amp; how to help them by using boundaries.\u00a0 Signposting Recovery pathways, &amp; how to stay in Recovery.This session always has the highest feedback for evry conference I&#039;ve ever done it at, including RCGP UK conference, Drug &amp; Alcohol conference, Secure environment conference &amp; Medical Indemnity conference. I&#039;m happy to send you my 16 minute TED-type talk if requested.
