We noted excessive use of opiates among poorly controlled diabetes with chronic lumbar disc disease. the aim to study the impact of lifestyle intervention97 females, aged [55 -70 ] over 24 months periods were reviewed. 60 were given lifestyle interventions included diet, exercise by MSK physiotherapist, and counselling and opiate decelerating regimes. 37 patients were already on polypharmacy. These patients were followed up by other clinicians and continued medication as per their clinician’s advice Outcomes evaluated with Oswestry back pain questionnaires included reduction of opiate use, HBA1c.Observational studyThe Lifestyle intervention group showed drop in HBA1c 78 to 67. and reported less radicular symptoms. All components of the pharmacologic therapy were explored. 5/60 patients did not use any opiate after one year of lifestyle intervention. 2/60 patient had HBA1c dropped to prediabetic range. There was a trend toward better weight management at 6 months in the lifestyle group. 11/37 patients required Pain injection therapy by specialist for Chronic low back painLifestyle changes produce better glycemic control, lesser use of opiates and weight management. This comprehensive medical approach that encompasses intensive lifestyle modification including behavioural changes towards nutrition, and physical activity, as well as pharmacotherapy leads to better outcome in poorly controlled diabetes with Degenerative disc diseaseThis study highlights glycemic control rather than pain medication would reduced morbidities in poor control diabetics with Disc disease.

["post-20663","wsa_session","type-wsa_session","status-publish","hentry","description-off
["GET
