Women in prostitution face heightened exposure to drugs and chemical vulnerability, which increase health risks and complicate access to care.\u00a0Many times, prostitution is not a choice at all, but\u00a0a\u00a0survival method\u00a0or a forced necessity.\u00a0\u00a0 Primary care physicians often\u00a0encounter\u00a0these patients, making early identification\u00a0and\u00a0harm reduction\u00a0crucial. Awareness of the intersection between substance use and sex work enables physicians to provide compassionate, effective care, improve health outcomes, and address broader public health challenges.The\u00a0participants will\u00a0increase their\u00a0level of awareness and be able to recognize the unique health risks and chemical vulnerabilities faced by women involved in prostitution. They will learn\u00a0to\u00a0identify\u00a0common patterns of substance use within this population and understand the broader social, psychological, and public health implications. Participants will also learn to use basic, nonjudgmental communication tools that support trauma-informed, patient-centered engagement.The workshop will\u00a0employ an interactive format featuring\u00a0brief interactive presentations\u00a0and\u00a0a roundtable discussion on the key topics\u00a0using real-case examples, followed by a reflection and a Q&A session.\u00a0 5 min \u2014 Introduction\u00a0 30 min \u2014\u00a0Roundtable\u00a0discussion\u00a0on:\u00a0Substance\u00a0Use\u00a0&\u00a0Addiction\u00a0in\u00a0Women,\u00a0Chemical\u00a0Vulnerability,\u00a0Violence,\u00a0Exploitation\u00a0&\u00a0Survival\u00a0 10\u00a0min \u2014\u00a0\u00a0Key\u00a0points\u00a0for\u00a0daily\u00a0practice\u00a0 15\u00a0min \u2014\u00a0Reflection\u00a0\/ Q&AThe participants\u00a0will develop awareness of the unique challenges and vulnerabilities faced by women involved in prostitution. They will improve their ability to recognize substance use and chemical vulnerabilities in this population. Physicians will be better equipped to provide individualized care and address broader social and public\u00a0health factors,\u00a0ultimately enhancing\u00a0patient engagement and health outcomes.We live in a world where mobility, vulnerability, and limited safe work push many women into extreme survival methods.\u00a0Addressing drug-related vulnerabilities in women involved in prostitution is essential for effective primary care.
