And can we?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>How to teach general practitioners point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and what scanning modalities to include in a curriculum have been a subject of on-going discussion. Recently new guidelines on how to teach POCUS in general practices has been published by the European Federation of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (EFSUMB). The newly formed European Family Medicine Ultrasound Society (EFMUS) will host this workshop to present the main conclusions of these guidelines. What are the barriers for implementing them and how can they be overcome? A live POCUS demonstration will show if the recommendations are relevant for you in your daily work.The aim of the workshop is: 1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To present EFSUMB\u00b4s newly published guidelines on POCUS curriculum development and training. 2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To demonstrate the five most popular scanning modalities across Europe and their clinical implications. 3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To discuss curriculum development and implementation of training guidelines across Europe.The workshop will start with a brief presentation of the newly published EFSUMB recommendations regarding training and curriculum development. Afterwards a live POCUS demonstration of 5 scanning modalities will be performed together with patient cases illustrating the clinical implications of performing these examinations. Lastly members of the EFMUS board will lead a panel discussion on POCUS training in Europe.After the workshop, participants will know about the evidence-based recommendations for POCUS training published by the EFSUMB taskforce. Participants will have reflected on the status of POCUS training in their respective countries and discussed to how they could implement these recommendations.
