For clinicians and leaders, the unpredictability of family life mirrors the challenges of general practice and healthcare systems under pressure. Sleepless nights, competing demands, and the constant need to improvise provide a rich metaphor for the realities of modern clinical practice and leadership. This workshop draws on lived experience to highlight how humour, reflection, and storytelling can transform personal milestones into practical leadership insights.\u2022 To explore parenting as a crucible for leadership development. \u2022 To foster reflection on wellbeing, psychological safety, and inclusive team culture. \u2022 To equip participants with practical strategies for flourishing in uncertain environments.This workshop will use storytelling, humour, and interactive reflection to connect parenting experiences with clinical leadership. The format is designed to balance discussion, reflection, and practical application.  Workshop Schedule (60 minutes):  \u2022 Introduction (10 min): Keynote presentation introducing parenting as a crucible for leadership, highlighting resilience, adaptability, and wellbeing. \u2022 Interactive Storytelling (10 min): Facilitator shares lived experiences with humour and metaphor, sparking reflection on parallels between family life, general practice and healthcare leadership. \u2022 Small\u2011Group Discussions (20 min): Participants explore their own \u201csurvival strategies\u201d from personal or professional contexts, translating them into leadership lessons. \u2022 Collaborative Exercise (10 min): Groups co\u2011create practical strategies for fostering psychological safety, inclusive culture, and adaptability in clinical teams. \u2022 Wrap\u2011Up (10 min): Plenary discussion summarizing key insights, with participants sharing takeaways and commitments to apply lessons in practice.Participants will leave with:  \u2022 Practical leadership tools grounded in lived experience. \u2022 Enhanced awareness of wellbeing and team culture. \u2022 Shared strategies for resilience and adaptability in general practice.By reframing the unpredictability of parenting as a source of wisdom, this workshop invites clinicians to embrace humour, vulnerability, and reflection as pathways to stronger leadership. In doing so, it embodies WONCA\u2019s themes of liberty through self\u2011care and resilience, and fraternity through interprofessional collaboration and shared learning.
