Background The most important cause of death, and crucially premature death, in most countries are events secondary to cardio-metabolic-renal disease (CMR). Further, CMR is the main cause of major disability and therefore health and social care expenditure as well as reduced quality of life for patients and families. Fortunately, CMR has the largest evidence base in medicine and is the focus for much innovation in healthcare interventions given the importance of CMR disease to health systems. However, unfortunately, Health systems are failing to effectively implement prevention strategies in CMR such as better identify and mitigate the common risk factors that drive CMR disease. And this is despite the WHO’s priority call for increased focus on disease prevention and long-term condition (LTC) management. Introduction Professor Richard Hobbs, University of Oxford & European PC Cardiovascular Society 1) Why has managing Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) become more important? 15 mins Professor Raj Thakkar, GP Specialist in CVD, Primary Care Cardiovascular Society, United Kingdom 2) What are the key changes in guidance for blood pressure and lipid PC management? 15 mins Dr Nicholas Jones, University of Oxford & EPCCS 3) Is there a role for primary care in Obesity management? 15mins Professor Kamlesh Khunti, University of Leicester& PCDE Moderated panel and audience discussion 15 mins Professor Richard Hobbs1) update on the most recent evidence for CMR 2) explore the optons for better diagnoses of CMR 3) discuss the management options to reduce the risk and nburden of CMR 4) answer queries on CMR and discuss areas of controversyInterative lecture sessions and moderated Q&ANew knowledge; Better understandings; Practical guidance, leading to; Improved patient careCMR disease – the most important cause of death and disability and major work impact on promary care deserves an update session

["post-19922","wsa_session","type-wsa_session","status-publish","hentry","description-off
["GET
