Decoding the myocardial infarction ECG without the stress.

Chest pain and ECG interpretation remain among the most frequent and challenging presentations in primary and urgent care. Family doctors often face time-pressured decisions with limited tools, which increases uncertainty and the risk of over- or under-diagnosis. Many clinicians report that their confidence drops not from lack of knowledge, but from the stress associated with distinguishing benign variants from true myocardial infarction patterns. A practical, case-driven approach can significantly reduce this stress and improve diagnostic clarity.1. Identify key ECG features suggestive of acute myocardial infarction relevant to primary care settings.
2. Distinguish MI ECGs from common mimics using simple, structured interpretation strategies.
3. Apply step-by-step decision pathways to improve diagnostic confidence during time-sensitive encounters.
4. Integrate practical tips to avoid common interpretation errors and unnecessary referrals.Teaching methods:
The workshop will use brief interactive presentations, real-case ECG examples, and large-group discussion. An interactive “MI or not MI?” challenge will be conducted using a gaming-style platform (e.g.,Kahoot or similar), followed by expert explanations and collective clarification of doubts.
Workshop schedule (60 minutes):
5 min — Introduction: why MI ECG interpretation goes wrong in primary care.
20 min — Key ECG patterns: STEMI, subtle ischemia, and common mimics.
30 min — Interactive case challenge: “MI or not MI?” (group analysis + collective debrief).
5 min — Clinical shortcuts, safe decisions, and take-home messages.Participants will leave with improved practical confidence in differentiating MI from non-MI ECGs, better recognition of red flags, and clearer decision-making strategies applicable to routine family practice. The workshop aims to reduce diagnostic anxiety and promote more consistent, evidence-based management across diverse clinical settings. This workshop provides a simple, structured, and stress-free approach to ECG interpretation for myocardial infarction in primary care. By combining real ECGs, active participation, and practical decision tools, it offers family doctors skills they can apply immediately in daily practice.

["post-19906","wsa_session","type-wsa_session","status-publish","hentry","description-off
["GET
