Primary care is an ideal setting for early identification and brief intervention (BI) however, implementation remains inconsistent due to time constraints and lack of specific training. Supported by the WHO\u2019s training frameworks and the European Health Alliance on Alcohol (EHAA), this workshop\u2014led by members of the WONCA XXX section\u2014aims to bridge the gap between global recommendations and local practice (e.g., XXX models, university training), providing a unified approach to alcohol harm reduction.Understand the principles and appraise the latest evidence and WHO\/EHAA guidelines of BI. Master practical screening techniques and motivational interviewing. Formulate pragmatic strategies to overcome implementation barriers in diverse primary care settings and identify pros and cons of BI.This 60-minute interactive session employs a multi-modal pedagogical approach based on the WHO Alcohol Brief Intervention Training Manual: Interactive Mini-Lectures&lt;br&gt; Skill-Drills: Focused case-based role-play scenarios&lt;br&gt; Collaborative Problem-Solving: Small group work to map local adaptations Workshop schedule (60 minutes) 00-05: Introduction: Global\/European epidemiology and the role of the GP 05-10: The Evidence Base: Review of guidelines and studies on BI effectiveness 10-40: Skills Lab: Role-play and feedback on screening and basic motivational interviewing techniques 40-45: The Reality Check: Moderated discussion on \u2018Pros &amp; Cons\u2019 45-55: Implementation Roadmap: Group work on integrating interventions into routine care 55-60: Conclusion: Synthesis of reflections and takeaway resourcesParticipants will gain measurable confidence in identifying hazardous drinking and delivering structured interventions.
