In France, medical students training takes place primarily in hospital settings, with limited exposure to primary care professionals. Medical students choose their specialty at the end of their sixth year of study. For several years, the Faculty of Medicine in Brest has implemented a teaching seminar focused on medical practice settings and medical specialties, aimed at supporting sixth-year students in developing their professional project.The evaluation of the teaching seminar was conducted using a questionnaire, collecting students’ professional project before and after the teaching seminar. Individual interviews were then carried out with students to explore their perceptions and the impact of this teaching on their professional project, until data saturation was reached. The interviews were analyzed using Grounded theory methodologyFirst qualitative evaluation of this teaching seminar, including an assessment of students’ perceptions of primary care practice. It will also evaluate how sixth-year medical students develop their professional project in the context of the recent reform of the second cycle of medical studies in France.The teaching seminar will be set in 2 sessions, in December 2025 and March 2026. Data collection will take place from December 2025 to April 2026.
