I’ve been in denial about this for way too long, but I finally have to face the fact that my bathroom vanity is on its last legs. The bottom drawer has been broken for about a year and I’ve just been propping it up with a piece of cardboard, which is honestly kind of pathetic. The laminate on the countertop is peeling up around the sink, there’s a weird stain that I can’t get rid of no matter what I try, and the cabinet doors don’t even close properly anymore because the hinges are completely stripped. I’ve been avoiding dealing with it because I knew that once I started fixing one thing, I’d end up wanting to redo the whole bathroom, and I just wasn’t ready for that kind of project. But I think I’ve reached my breaking point because I can’t keep living with a vanity that looks like it belongs in a dumpster. I’ve been looking at inspiration photos and I’m thinking about replacing it with a nice double vanity with plenty of storage, maybe something with a quartz countertop and soft-close drawers that will actually last for more than a few years. The problem is that the existing plumbing might need to be moved depending on the layout I choose, and I know that can get complicated and expensive. I also want to replace the old bathtub while I’m at it because the finish is worn and it’s just not as comfortable as it used to be. I’ve been looking for someone who specializes in Mountain View bathtub and vanity renovation so I can get a professional opinion on what’s feasible in my space and budget. Has anyone here done a bathroom update where they replaced both the tub and vanity at the same time? How did the project go and were there any unexpected issues with plumbing or layout changes that came up? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences before I start making calls.
